Biography

Megan S. Jones joined the firm as an Associate in 2017.  She practices in the firm's litigation section, her focus includes appellate, municipal and government, landlord tenant, personal injury, probate, trust, guardianship, estate planning, and breach of contract law.  Furthermore, she represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries, executors, and contestants in probate administration and litigation, will contests, administration of estates, prosecution and defense of fiduciary claims, guardianship proceedings and all other contested probate matters. She is licensed in Texas. Additionally, she is certified by the State Bar of Texas to act as an ad-litem for minors and incapacitated persons and is often appointed by the court to act as an attorney ad-litem and as a guardian ad-litem.

Born in Houston, Megan graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a major in Economics and a minor in Theatre.  She returned home to Houston for law school and graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2009.  During her time at South Texas, she competed in multiple mock and moot court competitions earning best speaker awards.  She began her law career in Austin as an Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).  She left TDCJ to follow her husband to Galveston, Texas for his medical residency program.  In 2012, she joined the Galveston County District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor.  She has first and second chaired numerous misdemeanor and felony jury trials. She has also handled and continues to handle civil and criminal appeals.

Megan lives in Galveston, Texas with her husband, three wonderful children, and adorable dog.  She enjoys running and volunteering her time with local Galveston organizations, which include the Junior League of Galveston County and sitting on the board of directors for BUILD Galveston. She is also very active volunteering her time within the legal community. She has served as President of the Galveston County Young Lawyers Association and is currently the President Elect of the Galveston County Bar Association.
