Employment Arbitration

Employment Arbitration Lawyer

Arbitration is a less formal and usually a far more effective way of settling employment law disputes than going to court. Arbitration is similar to a courtroom in that each party presents arguments and uses witnesses, documents, and other sources of proof.

Both parties agree before an arbitration process that the arbitrator's decision will be final and binding. There will be no court review and no appeal.

Arbitration cases are resolved far more quickly than traditional litigation, and, whatever the decision, the parties can move on. Unlike conventional lawsuits, arbitration involves less bureaucracy and court congestion.

Attorney Carla Cotropia of the Mills Shirley law firm has tried both plaintiffs' and defendants' employment law cases. Her employment law and arbitration credentials are significant:

  • Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization
  • The employment panel for the National Roster of Neutrals for the American Arbitration Association
  • A.A. White Dispute Resolution Institute, Basic Mediation Training, Houston
  • AAA Arbitrator I Training – Fundamentals of the Arbitration Process, Washington, DC
  • AAA Arbitrator II Training – Advanced Case Management-Employment, New York City, New York
