Maureen practices transactional work and general civil litigation, representing individuals, estate/representatives, for-profit and non-profit corporations, charitable foundations, and banks. Her transactional experience includes estate planning, probate, estate administration, trusts, guardianships, real estate, contracts, business law, and oil and gas law. Maureen's litigation experience includes fiduciary litigation, estate litgation, guardianship litigation and commercial litigation. Maureen is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning and Probate Law.
Prior to joining Mills Shirley in 1993, Maureen served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Margaret Garner Mirabal of the First Court of Appeals of the State of Texas. She was an adjunct professor with South Texas College of Law, assisting in a pre-trial litigation course. Maureen is active in the community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Galveston Island, a tennis competition director for Special Olympics Texas, and a sustaining member of the Junior League. Maureen is a past president of the Rotary Club of Galveston Island, past president and former board member of the ADA Women's Center, a past treasurer and former board member of the Junior League of Galveston County, a former board member of the Spanish Grant Civic Association.
